Nervous System Overview - Page 10 of 14

The somatic nervous system provides sensory and motor innervation to all body parts except organs, smooth muscles, and glands. It is involved in our voluntary movements - jumping, walking, speaking; reflexive movements; and the sensations that we are aware of such as pain and light.
