Features of the Inner Intestines
Finish your dissection by looking at the internal features of the intestines. On the large intestine, notice the large semilunar folds, and in this specimen, the ileocecal valve at the junction of the ileum and cecum. In the small intestine the folds are more numerous and are called circular folds.
