ABDUCENT NERVE- CN VI

    FUNCTION: motor to the lateral rectus extraocular muscle.

    The abducent nerve arises between the pons and the medulla on the brain and will travel through the SUPERIOR ORBITAL FISSURE to innervate the lateral rectus muscle. The action of this muscle is to ABDUCT the eye.
